For the Singhs - for the good times............

A young, smart, short, fair, smiling cadet in his muftis, blazer and...........with his moustache (rajat didn't, rather couldn't have one those days), that's my first image of  you Sanjay - at the Khondwa gate on a Saturday evening, sometime in 1990. Fast forward really really fast to 2013 - you're the same smart, fair, smiling person only this time with a few greys and an officer in the Indian Navy!! Now why am i saying this? Today is your last day in the Navy. And, courtesy you, Ankit and I have been blessed with wonderful friendships which we hold very dear!! So thank you!

There are just so many memories, so many stories. Right from the BEC stories of the times Rajat and you shared, of the OM days in the Shivaji OI, of your long Pune bike rides to FC, of your hip flask..... to the memories of our family get togethers over dinner at Shivaji, of the Matheran trip when the boys were so little, of the meetings at Gangotri, of the Koraput trip to so many many more!!! Come to think of it Sanjay, had you never joined the Academy, had you not been a Golfie, had you not joined the Navy, these stories and memories wouldn't have been there!!! It's a strange thought! Rajat has very few friends, friends - you know what i mean, right?! It's been a treat to watch you both together - the at times serious talks, the jokes, the reminiscing sessions, the 'daaru' sessions! It's a sense of comfort which Rajat feels with very very few!!!

Urmi, where do i begin - the list is endless. The Ankur days, discussing activities, playing with the kids, drooling over their tiffins - especially Shreya's paratha and 'makhkhan', putting together the annual day, coaching the kids, the recordings, deciding on the invite which was followed by the back breaking making them - so unique, making the backdrop, the compering, discovering the coffee instant mix at Menaka which served as our school break cuppa, discussing and sharing recipes, thoughts on parenting, sharing and discussing the good old music of the bygone days, sharing many a meal, laughing at the nutty anecdotes cracked by the men and later now by the boys - there are just so many many things we've shared and i've enjoyed every minute of it!

Sasha, Loy - you both are very special! Memories of the three of you playing making a house under the dining table at Lonavala are still so vivid. Loy, for me you'll always be Loy, Loy, the little baby who never left his mother's side at Ankur irrespective of how tall you grow!! Sasha, i love the relationship and the bond Ankit shares with you. Personally i've enjoyed watching you grow into what you've become today. Have also enjoyed exchanging plant notes with you. Have spoken about your  green thumb to many and also about your lemon tree! BTW, your orchid is beautiful! A true labour of love!

All in all, dearest Sanjay, Urmi, Sasha and Loy, as you embark on a new journey, here's wishing you the very best life has to offer to each one of you. May all your days be filled with joy, peace, contentment and good health, and.......................may we get many more opportunities to spend time with you guys!

Friends like you are truly a blessing! God bless!
