It's always a treat to watch you on stage, to watch you perform and I'm sure the same is true with every parent on the face of the planet.
Your school Annual Day has always been very special for us. We want to reach the auditorium as early as possible so that we can get the seats in the first few rows. We have to get as close a view of our chotu you see!! We do know that you get tired with all the practices and the rehearsals, that you get tired of waiting with your costume on on the days of the dress rehearsal and the final day. We know that you hate having make up on your face. But beta, when you come on stage we forget all the discomfort you have complained about!! For us it is plain and simple pride which knows no bounds!!! There might be many more children on stage, but our eyes are riveted only on one child and that is you. Every action, every movement, every word of yours is the sweetest, the cutest. My eyes have always filled with tears when I've seen you perform. It's one of those "HIGH" moments as also one of the most sentimental ones!
This annual day was at Mulla Auditorium on the 12th of May. You had just gone into the VI standard (the secondary section!!!) and were selected to be in the choir. It was a beautiful medley which you all had sung and so very beautifully at that. Most of the numbers were from ABBA, it truly was a treat. I remember you telling us that we'd enjoy it because it was 'our' kind of music. Yes, we did, but am sure we would've enjoyed it just as much if it was a Linkin' Park or Cold Play medley too!!! All that mattered was that you were singing!!! You all indeed looked very cute little sailors, tapping your feet to the music and also trying to snap your fingers!!
You know what stood out beta? Right through the entire performance you had this sweet smile on your face, the gleam in your eyes. You would sneak a peek at us through the corner of your eye and that smile would be even wider!!! It truly was a treat!
